The Wera Tools F4 British Championship certified by FIA
The Wera Tools F4 British Championship certified by FIA is the first step for aspiring young drivers making the transition from karting into single seaters. The series entered an exciting new phase in 2022 with the second generation Tatuus T-421 chassis – featuring the all-important halo safety feature – and Abarth engines.
Wera Tools British F4 will continue to be the premier UK single-seater series for drivers looking to progress their careers with ambitions to follow in the footsteps of former British F4 champion Lando Norris and reach the pinnacle of the sport – Formula 1.
Since 2022, Motorsport UK has organised and promoted the championship, which features leading teams and at a competitive price enables drivers as young as 15 years of age to race on some of the most challenging and renowned circuits in the world. As the championship is certified by the FIA, 12 Super Licence points will be awarded to the overall champion to aid their progression through the single seater ranks.
British F4 offers real prospects for progression of young talent into the international scene and the championship’s 30 races, held over ten rounds, will continue to be showcased on the high-profile support package of the British Touring Car Championship, which features live free-to-air TV coverage.

Well George, congratulations. Uh a lovely pole position for you there. Are you pleased with that?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, definitely. I think yeah, really happy to finally like put put a proper proper lap together. I think we've not, you know, on my side not really put it together yet in quality um in the first three, but no, really happy with that. We yeah, I think shows our true true potential there.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, absolutely. I mean uh in in uh free practice yesterday you were putting in some consistent times. Where did you find that extra 10 and that little bit of a push overnight?
SPEAKER_01Um I think honestly just putting the lap together. Um, you know, just being able to I think we also had good track position then, had sort of a little little pull round from like a tiny bit of a slipstream, but not so close that we're picking up dirty air and stuff, but um yeah, car just felt mega put it together. Just one of those things where like everything just aligned.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, absolutely. I mean you've had some decent outings so far, but this this feels like all the bits of the jigsaw puzzle have come together here at uh at Silverstone.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, definitely. I think it's my favourite track by far here. Um I think I've just always suited it, so no, looking forward to the racing now.
SPEAKER_00It's quite a long lap here and it's quite a tiring lap. You've got to concentrate all the way around, haven't you? I mean you're on the front row. Can you take it to a Leicester flag victory from there?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that that'll be the plan. Um yeah, we will just sort of do our best, focus on a good start and try get away, but yeah, just just kind of one of those things you gotta just focus on you doing everything right, um, and yeah, hope everything comes together.
SPEAKER_00We've got 32 cars on the grid this weekend, that's uh a big turnout. Uh that's gonna make it interesting, isn't it?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I think hopefully I'll be at the front and away from the chaos, but yeah, no, we'll we'll see.
SPEAKER_00It's an excellent start to the weekend, and of course on Sunday we've got the BIBC International Trophy. You must be thinking ahead to that as well.
SPEAKER_01Um, not really, just sort of one step at a time. I think just focus on race one now, do the best job we can. Then tomorrow focus on race two. Gotta start 12th there, so just come back through. Just take it race by race, step by step. Just not really think too much about the big picture.
SPEAKER_00Really good qualifying, great job. Well done, George. Thank you. Bye bye.
