The Wera Tools F4 British Championship certified by FIA
The Wera Tools F4 British Championship certified by FIA is the first step for aspiring young drivers making the transition from karting into single seaters. The series entered an exciting new phase in 2022 with the second generation Tatuus T-421 chassis – featuring the all-important halo safety feature – and Abarth engines.
Wera Tools British F4 will continue to be the premier UK single-seater series for drivers looking to progress their careers with ambitions to follow in the footsteps of former British F4 champion Lando Norris and reach the pinnacle of the sport – Formula 1.
Since 2022, Motorsport UK has organised and promoted the championship, which features leading teams and at a competitive price enables drivers as young as 15 years of age to race on some of the most challenging and renowned circuits in the world. As the championship is certified by the FIA, 12 Super Licence points will be awarded to the overall champion to aid their progression through the single seater ranks.
British F4 offers real prospects for progression of young talent into the international scene and the championship’s 30 races, held over ten rounds, will continue to be showcased on the high-profile support package of the British Touring Car Championship, which features live free-to-air TV coverage.

Well Ethan, a good qualifying session for you here. Kick the weekend off at uh Silverstone, please with that?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, for sure. Uh it was obviously tricky with the heat and um yeah, P3, I'm happy with that. It's a good starting position for the races, so hopefully we can make some moves and uh get some more points.
SPEAKER_01It's quite warm here, but you've had an early start. What was the track temperature like and the effect on tyres?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's obviously hot. I don't know what exact uh what exactly the track temperature is, but yeah, it makes a massive difference. Obviously, you only get a couple laps out of the tires from you're one or two, then so I'd imagine everyone's in the same boat, but yeah, heat heat makes it really tricky for the tyres going off and probably be quite tricky in the races having to manage manage the tyres, manage everything that's going on, so yeah, it'd be tricky.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, we've spoken throughout the season about the number of cars on the grid and how important qualifying is. You're at the sharp end, which is good. How important is that on a long lap like the Grand Prix circuit here at Silverstone?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I think it's important to be at the front. You know, we were a bit further back in Snetherson and then we didn't have a good weekend, so I mean that's also quite a long circuit. So it shows that qualifying is really important. You know, if you're not starting top five, then it makes the races really tricky. But yeah, obviously we're we've we've done that today, starting top three, so yeah, I mean, should be a good weekend. I'm I'm happy, happy that we're back up at the front. Um so yeah.
SPEAKER_01Happy with the the balance of the setup because you you need to be able to carry the speed through the fast corners, but you need the down force for the trickier infield bits.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean the car feels good. Uh you need a bit of a mix of slow speed grip and um also high speed grip, so yeah, I mean we had a we had a good balance of that then. Um hopefully we can have a similar level of grip in the races, that would be nice. Um just help us make some moves, be fast, you know. That's all we're aiming for.
SPEAKER_01A good start to the weekend, a cracking session by you. Are you yet thinking ahead to somebody in the BRDC International Trophy? It'd be nice to see your name on that, wouldn't it?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, for sure. Um I mean it's what a what a thing to be to be racing in, so yeah, hopefully we can have a a good a good race there. Um P three for that, so we've got a good chance of doing well. Um just gotta keep pushing and it'd be nice to win, wouldn't it?
SPEAKER_01Absolutely. Really good session for you, Ethan. Well done.
SPEAKER_00Thank you very much. Cheers.
