The Wera Tools F4 British Championship certified by FIA is the first step for aspiring young drivers making the transition from karting into single seaters. The series entered an exciting new phase in 2022 with the second generation Tatuus T-421 chassis – featuring the all-important halo safety feature – and Abarth engines.
Wera Tools British F4 will continue to be the premier UK single-seater series for drivers looking to progress their careers with ambitions to follow in the footsteps of former British F4 champion Lando Norris and reach the pinnacle of the sport – Formula 1.
Since 2022, Motorsport UK has organised and promoted the championship, which features leading teams and at a competitive price enables drivers as young as 15 years of age to race on some of the most challenging and renowned circuits in the world. As the championship is certified by the FIA, 12 Super Licence points will be awarded to the overall champion to aid their progression through the single seater ranks.
British F4 offers real prospects for progression of young talent into the international scene and the championship’s 30 races, held over ten rounds, will continue to be showcased on the high-profile support package of the British Touring Car Championship, which features live free-to-air TV coverage.

Well, Ethan, a lively opener. That's the word I'm going to use after obviously the pole sitter managed to unfortunately stall it. Just to take me through that that opening where lights went out.
SPEAKER_00I mean, yeah, it was a phenomenal start from my end. Unfortunately, the pole sitter stalled, so um made it a bit tricky to get past, but managed to go left and had a really good start as well. So P5 to P2 by the first corner. So yeah, I'm I'm happy with that start.
SPEAKER_01Obviously, Lewis Werrell went off into the distance, and you were having to take a defensive line, weren't you, through most of that?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean he was very quick at the start of the lap. I think we might have done a bit too much warming, which made the tyres very hot, so I was trying to manage that for sure. Um I mean it meant that the start was good, but the the first couple laps were so tricky, you know, really struggling with the rears going off, but yeah, managed to cool them down a little bit and fight off the pressure from behind. Started to build a bit of a gap, I would say halfway through the race, maybe a bit later than that, and then obviously safety car came out. Very interesting last lap. Um but yeah, we managed to hold on to P2.
SPEAKER_01In the position that you were in when the safety car came out, you must have been thinking, I've got another chance now.
SPEAKER_00Um yeah, you've always got that second chance of trying to get to the to the lead, but unfortunately the the restart wasn't good enough to apply any pressure in front. Um but yeah, it's the way thing goes.
SPEAKER_01It was a frantic last lap, one lap only, one racing lap after the safety car went in, and uh there was a real to and fro there between you and Theo, wasn't it?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean when you have a last lap shooter like that and everyone's so close it makes it really interesting. Uh obviously the temperatures definitely don't help um with the handling of the car, you know, it's very tricky to race. So yeah, I mean me and Theo had a good good battle and managed to come out on top, so yeah.
SPEAKER_01Good points in the bag and a good drive from you, which means job well done, I'm hoping you're thinking.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean if you'd have said it was P two after that one I would have taken it. So yeah, I mean, can't complain when starting P five. Really great drive, well done Ethan. Thank you very much. Cheers.
