The Wera Tools F4 British Championship certified by FIA
The Wera Tools F4 British Championship certified by FIA is the first step for aspiring young drivers making the transition from karting into single seaters. The series entered an exciting new phase in 2022 with the second generation Tatuus T-421 chassis – featuring the all-important halo safety feature – and Abarth engines.
Wera Tools British F4 will continue to be the premier UK single-seater series for drivers looking to progress their careers with ambitions to follow in the footsteps of former British F4 champion Lando Norris and reach the pinnacle of the sport – Formula 1.
Since 2022, Motorsport UK has organised and promoted the championship, which features leading teams and at a competitive price enables drivers as young as 15 years of age to race on some of the most challenging and renowned circuits in the world. As the championship is certified by the FIA, 12 Super Licence points will be awarded to the overall champion to aid their progression through the single seater ranks.
British F4 offers real prospects for progression of young talent into the international scene and the championship’s 30 races, held over ten rounds, will continue to be showcased on the high-profile support package of the British Touring Car Championship, which features live free-to-air TV coverage.

Well, Lewis, huge congratulations. An incredible opener here at uh Silverstone. We have to start with what happened at the very opener as soon as lights went out. Just talk me through that bit, first of all.
SPEAKER_00Not much from my side, got a really good start. Unfortunate for George, he ended up stalling. Really sorry about that for him. But yeah, race was really straightforward for me, if that makes sense. Pulled away a big margin before the safety car came out towards the end. And then got a really good restart and just did that again.
SPEAKER_01You clearly had good pace. I think before the safety car came out, you were four and a half seconds or so up the road. So which begs the question you get the notification of the safety car, what was going through your mind?
SPEAKER_00Well, at the point I wasn't happy, but I knew we had the new tyres, we only used one set in qualifying. So I had an upper hand on everyone on the new tyres. So I used it off the safety car restart and pulled away again. So really thankful for the team's efforts and can't wait for tomorrow.
SPEAKER_01Absolutely. Now you've you've been in front of the safety car uh before up at Snetterton, um, and uh a couple of opportunities there to show different types of starts. This time coming through Loughfield, you bunched everybody up and then went for it.
SPEAKER_00Um yeah, I think at Snetterton it was my first safety car restart, so I wasn't really having any ideas what I was doing, but now I think I've had more um a bit more confidence at doing it, so yeah, got a good restart and pulled away. So big thanks to the team.
SPEAKER_01Absolutely. Uh after um qualifying this morning, you said to me you were a little bit disappointed because you thought you had a bit more pace. Does this make up for that?
SPEAKER_00Um yeah. Uh I want to win race three as well tomorrow, but we'll try our best to do what we did at Snetterton.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, absolutely. Well, there's the trophy, the international trophy, so that's what you're aiming for on Sunday. It's a real opportunity.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I think it's a very big opportunity now that we have uh to win that trophy, and it would be a real honour to win it as well. Put my name on with such other good names.
SPEAKER_01Absolutely. Uh just finally, uh another cracking drive from you, important points in the bag, and you're really laying down a marker now for the uh for after the summer break when we come back uh in terms of the championship.
SPEAKER_00Um yeah, at the minute I'm not too focused about the points, just scoring as well as I can, get as many wins as possible, really. Another really great drive, Lewis, well deserved, well done. Thank you.
