The Wera Tools F4 British Championship certified by FIA
The Wera Tools F4 British Championship certified by FIA is the first step for aspiring young drivers making the transition from karting into single seaters. The series entered an exciting new phase in 2022 with the second generation Tatuus T-421 chassis – featuring the all-important halo safety feature – and Abarth engines.
Wera Tools British F4 will continue to be the premier UK single-seater series for drivers looking to progress their careers with ambitions to follow in the footsteps of former British F4 champion Lando Norris and reach the pinnacle of the sport – Formula 1.
Since 2022, Motorsport UK has organised and promoted the championship, which features leading teams and at a competitive price enables drivers as young as 15 years of age to race on some of the most challenging and renowned circuits in the world. As the championship is certified by the FIA, 12 Super Licence points will be awarded to the overall champion to aid their progression through the single seater ranks.
British F4 offers real prospects for progression of young talent into the international scene and the championship’s 30 races, held over ten rounds, will continue to be showcased on the high-profile support package of the British Touring Car Championship, which features live free-to-air TV coverage.

Well, George, a huge smile on your face and people queuing up to get your autograph. Now, what an incredible way to be on the top of the podium for the first time in this championship and to be taking away the BRDC International Trophy.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it's um good time to get my first win. Yeah, good time to do it. I think, yeah, no, just like absolutely over the moon. I think we've learned a lot of lessons the hard way recently. Um, so this just massive confidence booster, um, yeah, just means the absolute world to get this first win. Um, yeah, I think just really like shows the hard work that we've all been putting in. So yeah, over the moon.
SPEAKER_00Absolutely. You started off with a really good qualifying, had a disappointment this weekend. I'm sure this makes up for that, doesn't it?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, exactly. Um yeah, had to had to learn a lesson yesterday. Um happy I learnt it then and not later on in my career, but yeah, no, just learnt from it and yeah, fixed it today. So yeah.
SPEAKER_00An excellent start from you, and you started to eke out uh a bit of a gap as well. Sometimes it's lonely at the front, isn't it? How hard were you having to concentrate? I mean it was a very confident uh and tremendous drive.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, the first half was good. I think I was yeah, pulling a gap to the people behind, I was just sort of yeah, in a good good rhythm, you know, yeah, just building a gap, um chipping away, just quality laps pretty much. Um yeah, then at the end Lewis started to catch a bit. Um, yeah, went for a lunge. I was under a lot of pressure, um, but no, managed to hold on to it, so yeah, we're all good, but but yeah, no, definitely was was giving me a run there at the end.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, your mirrors must have been full of uh of Lewis Ware all there, wasn't he? Um just talking about the last probably three laps, you were both trading fastest laps at the end of a race where we would all expect tyres to be going off a little bit.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I think yeah, my car just kept getting quicker and quicker. Um yeah, I think the last two laps, I think obviously I was defending and driving off the racing line a bit. So yeah, went slower then, but yeah, I think if I was able to drive my normal lap, I think just would have kept getting better and better. Um, but no, I think, yeah, no, just really happy, really good race.
SPEAKER_00A great location and a great circuit for a great drive to end up on the top of the podium for the first time. Really important points for you in in the championship, which I know you and the team will be extremely pleased with.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, definitely. I think Silverston is definitely my favourite track. I said it like just in if it wasn't it is now yeah, in pre-season testing before we came even came here this weekend, it was just definitely my favourite. Just yeah, it's just a circuit I just gel with, um gel with really well. Um yeah, but no, really, really, really happy and yeah, no massive confidence booster for the championship, definitely.
SPEAKER_00And I'm sure when you've had time to let it sink in, winning the BRDC International Trophy, your name goes alongside some of the greats in motor racing.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I've it sort of I was trying not to think about like just you know any other race kind of before before the race, I was uh trying not to think about you know the like the the the special part of it, but just sort of trying to treat it as any other race, but no, I think now that I have one, I think I can actually you know think about it and no, it's really really cool.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, we don't often have national anthems uh in the British F4, but uh there you are on the podium. The Australian national anthem was playing, but emotional.
SPEAKER_01Um yeah, I think definitely just yeah, like obviously all the hard work and stuff of like all of us have put in over the years. Um yeah, no means the world to like do it for Australia. Um yeah, just really, really happy.
SPEAKER_00Just finally, um, it was obviously being shown on the Bruce Chef 4 website on YouTube, uh you could see it. I'm sure I could hear some cheers all the way from down under when you cross the line.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, definitely. I think coming across the line is like could not believe it. Like, first ever race win in anything, um, apart from go-karts, but yeah, just yeah, so so happy.
SPEAKER_00Fantastic achievement, George. Congratulations, enjoy the moment, really well done. Thank you.
