The Wera Tools F4 British Championship certified by FIA
The Wera Tools F4 British Championship certified by FIA is the first step for aspiring young drivers making the transition from karting into single seaters. The series entered an exciting new phase in 2022 with the second generation Tatuus T-421 chassis – featuring the all-important halo safety feature – and Abarth engines.
Wera Tools British F4 will continue to be the premier UK single-seater series for drivers looking to progress their careers with ambitions to follow in the footsteps of former British F4 champion Lando Norris and reach the pinnacle of the sport – Formula 1.
Since 2022, Motorsport UK has organised and promoted the championship, which features leading teams and at a competitive price enables drivers as young as 15 years of age to race on some of the most challenging and renowned circuits in the world. As the championship is certified by the FIA, 12 Super Licence points will be awarded to the overall champion to aid their progression through the single seater ranks.
British F4 offers real prospects for progression of young talent into the international scene and the championship’s 30 races, held over ten rounds, will continue to be showcased on the high-profile support package of the British Touring Car Championship, which features live free-to-air TV coverage.

Excuse me, my voice is nearly gone.
SPEAKER_00I'm not Brack, I'm not surprised because you have been shouting and screaming from uh from the pit lane. Well yeah, um and I'm sensing a bit of an emotional moment for you.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, no, it's really good. Like we all all the boys, the whole team come here this weekend to win this. Um and for any of them could have won it, it was a m yeah, I don't really know what to say. But George did an amazing job. Really, really good job. After stalling off the start yesterday, Paul, his first pole position and pressure, everything got to him. He's he's a young lad, and mistakes happen. But to do what he did there, have had to do the start twice as well, and then did a really good job. And then to be fair, him and Lewis Potten an amazing show, and an amazing show for for F4 for themselves and for the championship. It was it was incredible.
SPEAKER_00You mentioned that unfortunate stall uh on the grid. I think it was Nikki Lower who said you learn more from your mistakes than than you do from uh the the positives and the wins, and he clearly did that. You will have been involved in the conversation with him to make sure he was in the right place for the start of this race.
SPEAKER_01Absolutely. When we it happened yesterday, obviously he was distraught. We all was, we were all gutted for him. He deserves it, he deserves it. He's got a lot of hard work in, he'd done a mega qualifying, and he actually thought that's the weekend over. And I was like, mate, yes, it's bad, unlucky, you feel horrible with yourself. I said, but you've got tomorrow to rectify it. And then I said, look, just leave, we'll come back in the morning and go through it. Went through it this morning, and when we looked at it, actually, everything that he shouldn't have done, he ended up doing, but it was just pressure. But he's gone out there, race two, did a good job, had a better start than everyone around him that was just on the grid for race three, and yeah, he did an amazing start there and learned from his mistakes.
SPEAKER_00The last sort of four laps uh of uh this BRDC International trophy race were among the best that I've seen in terms of race craft and performance from from George and from Lewis Werrell, who was putting him under an immense amount of pressure. It was fantastic to watch.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, no, it was. The the two have really put on a really good show. They they raced so closely, they respected each other and and put on something that not many other F World championships can do. The two of them drove away from everyone, and then it was okay, we're in a two-horse race here, and it was good to watch now. I can say that, but at the time it definitely was a no, no, not at all. It was stressful, and then with two laps to go, he can sense his first win. Yeah, looks in the mirror, misses a few corners, and then we're really under pressure. Then we start the last lap side by side. I think it was 12,000th between them across the line. Yeah, so yeah, 25 minutes, the international trophy come down to one lap. So it was really good, really good to see.
SPEAKER_00And just finally, we've spoken over the last couple of seasons about um everybody focuses on the driver, but actually, this is for the whole team, isn't it?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, absolutely, it's for the whole team. The guys, the whole team, they all work so hard. Mechanics, engineers, truckee, everyone, everybody plays a role in this, and every win, every podium, point scoring is for everyone. It's not just for the drivers or for the team, it's for for me, it's for the whole team. So, yeah, they are very happy back there. So we will we will celebrate this. We have a month off now, so we can go celebrate.
SPEAKER_00It's not a bad bit of silverware, that trophy, is it?
SPEAKER_01No, when I saw it for the first time, I think uh last week at SNET, and I was like, that's impressive. It reminded me of that the the brickyard on in on Indianapolis, and it was cool. And at that point there, I said to the championship, that's that's my line, that is, and um yeah, we did it. So it was good, yeah, it was really good.
SPEAKER_00His name's on it, um Virtuosi Racing are associated with that. What a cracking weekend.
SPEAKER_01No, thank you so much, really good weekend, and yeah, now we can breathe and have a bit of a bit of rest after the busy month of May let's do it. Absolutely, well done, Mark. Excellent, thank you so much, thank you.
