The Wera Tools F4 British Championship certified by FIA
The Wera Tools F4 British Championship certified by FIA is the first step for aspiring young drivers making the transition from karting into single seaters. The series entered an exciting new phase in 2022 with the second generation Tatuus T-421 chassis – featuring the all-important halo safety feature – and Abarth engines.
Wera Tools British F4 will continue to be the premier UK single-seater series for drivers looking to progress their careers with ambitions to follow in the footsteps of former British F4 champion Lando Norris and reach the pinnacle of the sport – Formula 1.
Since 2022, Motorsport UK has organised and promoted the championship, which features leading teams and at a competitive price enables drivers as young as 15 years of age to race on some of the most challenging and renowned circuits in the world. As the championship is certified by the FIA, 12 Super Licence points will be awarded to the overall champion to aid their progression through the single seater ranks.
British F4 offers real prospects for progression of young talent into the international scene and the championship’s 30 races, held over ten rounds, will continue to be showcased on the high-profile support package of the British Touring Car Championship, which features live free-to-air TV coverage.
Well Don, dude to uh catch up with you. Uh the podium has just happened for the last round of the twenty twenty-six season and it's been a good one for you in high tech, hasn't it? Yeah, I mean we haven't spoken for a while, have we? So it's nice to be back. Were you getting worried?

No, no, no. Yeah, really nice way to end the season um with a teams championship. Just really kind of sums up the the effort the whole group puts in. All four drivers have contributed massively to the points. So uh Theo taking a really commanding win there, and all four cars in the top eight. I don't think you can ask too much better at the end of the year. Absolutely. I I mean the whole package seems to just all the bits seem to have come together really well this year. Yeah, we've worked hard. Um it's it's a nice reward to end the season like this. Um unfortunately we didn't quite go for the driver's championship, but like I said, it's a the team's championship is more a reward for everyone and the effort they put in, so uh you know everyone deserves a pat on the back. Nice to see everyone celebrate all four cars uh near the front.

Absolutely. We spoke uh much earlier on in the season, and and I asked you whether you thought this grid was as one of the most competitive that we've seen for a while, and you you sort of nodded and winked and said, Yeah, I think it's going to be an interesting one, and it's proved to be the case, isn't it?

Definitely, there's been some really strong drivers this year. Uh people have had you know really strong weekends, um, and you know it's nice for us to have the last weekend as our strongest one, I think.

So yeah, absolutely. And a good driver lineup, they all seem to have worked together really well, and and you've pulled them together to do and perform like that. Yeah, definitely.

Um different groups uh years gone by, probably a bit quieter, but um, yeah, no, they've all been really good to work with. Um, you know, things haven't always gone their way, but um they've all worked really hard to bounce back from setbacks, and they've all had good weekends, they've all qualified near the front, they've all finished on the podium, three out of four of one races, so yeah, really, really strong year.

Absolutely, and good uh the last round to see to see Theo with a big smile on his face. He's worked so hard, he's really pleased with what he's achieved this year, and and that's important for all your drivers, isn't it? For them to go away saying, Look, I've improved and I've achieved.

Yeah, definitely. I think they're all I think finishing on a good note is is really nice because they're all going away with a smile on their face. Um they all want more, which is good. It's looking forward to seeing what what they do in the future, um, and they're always part of our our little high-tech family, so yeah, we'll support them all the way.

Absolutely, and just finally, talking of the future, I know plans will be underway for next year, lots of discussions going on. Um do you roughly know what your driver lineup might be yet, or at least part of it? You know, I'm not gonna tell you anything.

No, we're we're we're working hard on it in the background. Um, you know, we we test in between races, so um yeah, we're we're pushing forward with that and uh we'll yeah, get that driver's championship back next year, hopefully. Absolutely, you want two on the trot, don't you? Yeah, yeah, exactly. So uh yeah, always trying to win, that's what we're here for. So um, but again, we've had a really good year, strong results. I think everyone's done a good job, and uh we'll try again next year. Yeah, congratulations, it's been a cracking season. Thank you.
